It is designed for large lures and natural baits for pike and zander within its 70–220 g casting range. Supported applications include jigging large shads, casting jerkbaits and swimbaits, and trolling large wobblers, so choose it for heavy-bait work rather than light-lure fishing.
Yes, the SeaGuide CCS guides with SiN inserts are suitable for braid and reduce friction to protect the line during repeated use. The SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat holds the reel securely against twisting during powerful casts, supporting a stable setup for heavy lures.
The 2.59 m rod breaks down into two sections with a transport length of 136 cm. A competition-ready rod bag is included, so allow at least the stated transport length when checking your storage or vehicle space.

The Savage Gear Alpha SG4 Big Bait is a spinning rod for fishing large lures for pike and zander. Its reinforced, progressive blank uses Japanese Torayca 30T fibre to combine bite sensitivity with the power needed for firm hooksets and playing strong fish. It is intended for anglers who regularly fish heavy baits and need controlled lure presentation.
At 2.59 m with a casting weight of 70–220 g, this version is built for large softbaits, oversized wobblers, jerkbaits and swimbaits. The supplier also specifies natural-bait use. Choose baits within the stated weight range. The blank supports jigging large shads as well as trolling large wobblers, while the rod's main focus is casting and working big lures.
Coastal waters, fjords and large rivers are stated applications, particularly where powerful casts over distance are needed. The progressive blank provides feedback from the lure and power for setting the hook when targeting pike and zander.
SeaGuide CCS guides with SiN inserts reduce line friction and are suitable for braided line, helping protect it during repeated casting and retrieving. The SeaGuide Alien Lock Down reel seat holds the reel securely and resists twisting under the load of powerful casts.
The rod weighs 218 g and has two sections. Its transport length is 136 cm, the dimension to allow for when planning storage or travel. A competition-ready rod bag is included for carrying the rod.
