Yes, the net floats and has an elastic lanyard for securing it. Buoyancy keeps it at the surface if dropped, while the lanyard allows you to tether it rather than relying on flotation alone.
The frame is black anodized aluminium and the rubberized mesh is listed as 50% rubber and 50% nylon. The rubber coating is specified for durability, so this is a coated net rather than an uncoated nylon mesh.

The Rapala Floating Belly Boat Landing Net is designed specifically for landing fish from a belly boat. Its buoyant construction keeps the net at the surface if dropped into the water, while an elastic lanyard provides a way to secure it. The RNFSHN-M weighs 420 g and is also described by the supplier as a predator-fishing net.
The 20 cm handle suits working close to the belly boat rather than reaching out from a high bank. Its Soft Grip surface provides a soft handhold when bringing fish to the net.
A black anodized aluminium frame supports the rubberized mesh, which the supplier specifies for durability. The mesh material is listed as 50% rubber and 50% nylon.
Check the net for visible damage before use and do not use damaged equipment. Store it in a cool, dry place.
