Quantum Mr Pike Long Cast Leader: secure deadbaits for distance casting

The Quantum Mr Pike Long Cast Leader is a steel trace for pike fishing with deadbaits. Its integrated loop secures the bait for powerful casts, helping it stay attached when fishing at distance. The trace can be used with both float and bottom rigs.

Construction for pike fishing

Each 60 cm trace has a strength rating of 13.6 kg (30 lbs) and two sharp carbon-steel treble hooks designed to withstand playing large pike. Crimp sleeves secure the connections. The Camouflage colour blends with the lake or river bed to make the rig less conspicuous.

Choose the hook size

The versions differ only in hook size: #2 has the largest hooks, #6 is the intermediate option and #8 has the smallest. Choose the hook size to suit your deadbait presentation. All three retain the same length, strength, bait-retaining loop and two-treble arrangement, so choosing smaller hooks does not change the trace's stated strength.

Each pack contains one finished pike trace in the selected hook size.

Frequently asked

Can I use this trace with both float and bottom rigs?

Yes. It is designed for pike fishing with deadbaits and supports both float and bottom rigs. You can choose either presentation without changing to a different trace model.

What helps the deadbait stay attached during a powerful cast?

The integrated loop lets you secure the deadbait for powerful casts. Use this bait-retaining feature when casting at distance, rather than relying only on the two treble hooks to hold the bait.

How do the #2, #6 and #8 versions differ, and what is included?

Only the hook size changes: #2 is the largest, #6 intermediate and #8 the smallest. Every version is 60 cm long, rated at 13.6 kg (30 lbs) and has two treble hooks. Each pack contains one finished trace in your chosen size, so select by hook size rather than length or strength.
