It is designed for shallow pole fishing on commercial fisheries, particularly for F1s. The bulk Stotz shotting provides positive bite indication and helps distinguish genuine bites, making this a setup for fishing small baits shallow.
The size 16 GPM-B hook is suitable for maggots, casters, worm and pellets. The float's 1.5 mm hollow bristle and carbon stem are intended for these smaller baits, including pieces of worm, so you can choose among them with the supplied setup.
You receive one complete pre-tied rig in the 4X10 version, not a loose float. It includes the F1 Shallow float, Reflo Power main line and hooklength, Stotz shotting and a size 16 GPM-B hook, so these components do not need to be assembled into a rig yourself.
It makes the float stronger than a standard side eye without altering its balance. You get a more durable line attachment while retaining the float's intended balance for bite indication.

The Preston F1 Shallow Pole Rig is a ready-tied float rig for shallow pole fishing on commercial fisheries. Its bulk shotting pattern with Stotz gives positive bite indication and helps distinguish genuine bites when fishing for F1s. The setup is based on rigs tied by Preston's consultants for the Des Shipp commercial carp rig range.
The F1 Shallow float has a 1.5 mm hollow bristle and a carbon stem, a combination intended for smaller baits such as maggots, pellets, casters and pieces of worm. Its Dura side eye increases strength compared with a standard side eye without changing the float's balance.
Reflo Power is used for both the main line and hooklength. The size 16 GPM-B hook suits maggots, casters, worm and pellets, so the same rig covers these bait choices. It is intended for freshwater fishing, including carp, tench and roach.
This version is designated 4X10 and includes one complete rig with a size 16 hook.
