No. It is particularly intended for freshwater feeder fishing, including river feeder and lake method feeder sessions, but can be used with other methods that use an Absolute 5G seat box. Seat box compatibility is the deciding factor, rather than the fishing method alone.
Rinse it with clean water after each session and dry it thoroughly. Include the attachment points in this routine to help keep them functional for the next use.

The Preston Absolute 5G Deep Tray Unit is a deep tray for Absolute 5G seat boxes, intended particularly for freshwater feeder fishing. Its deeper format provides more storage space than a standard tray, keeping larger reels and accessories organised and within reach beside your seat box.
The extra depth accommodates items such as larger freespool reels, spare spools and hooklength boxes. This is useful during longer sessions with several rods or frequent changes of hooklengths, bait and feeders, when keeping equipment together makes it easier to find what you need.
The unit fits all Preston Absolute 5G seat boxes and can be retrofitted to an existing box without tools. It extends the storage of your current setup rather than replacing the seat box.
The tray is suited to feeder fishing for carp, tench, bream and roach, including river fishing with a feeder and method feeder fishing on lakes. It also provides accessible tackle storage during competitions. It is not restricted to feeder fishing and can serve other methods that use an Absolute 5G seat box.
Rinse the unit with clean water after each session and dry it thoroughly, including the attachment points.
