The PENN CARNAGE Viking Edition is a sea fishing rod developed for Scandinavian boat fishing and tested by guides in Scandinavia. Its short blank and spiral-mounted guides improve control and lifting power when fighting large halibut.
Model 581 measures 1.72 m and has a 150–500 g lure rating, an 80 lb line class, Fast action and Extra Extra Heavy power. These specifications identify it as a heavy boat-fishing option rather than a light lure rod. The carbon-composite blank uses Solid Spiral Armor technology.
Eight Fuji SIC K-Type guides, including the tip, guide the line in a spiral layout to improve control during the fight. The full high-density EVA grip provides a secure hold when applying pressure to a fish. The rod weighs 400 g and comes in Black Gold.
The rod is one piece, so it does not break down into shorter sections. The supplier lists a transport length of 176 cm. Allow for this length when planning storage or travel. It is supplied in a cloth bag.
