It is intended for heavy buoy and bottom rigs when targeting large catfish. The 3 m model has a 200–400 g casting weight and is also suited to distance casting from the bank, so it is a choice for heavy setups rather than light presentations.
The 300 cm rod separates into two sections with a transport length of 155 cm and weighs 426 g. It is easier to carry between swims when packed down, but your storage space must still accommodate the 155 cm sections.
The SeaGuide guides omit ceramic inserts to avoid insert damage from hard contact. This is useful during intensive catfish sessions where the tackle may take knocks, without relying on ceramic inserts for the guide construction.
The rod uses a size 20 SeaGuide XDPS reel seat to secure the reel under load. The supplier recommends strong braided line with a high breaking strain for heavy catfish rigs, but gives no exact line rating or reel size, so these must be matched to your setup separately.

The Madcat X-Zibit Heavy Duty is a two-piece catfish rod for heavy buoy rigs, bottom rigs and distance casting from the bank. Its heavy 24T carbon blank provides the leverage needed to control large wels in demanding fishing situations, including large waters and difficult-to-access banks.
This 300 cm model has a casting weight of 200–400 g, making it suited to heavy rigs and long casts rather than light presentations. The rod weighs 426 g. For heavy catfish setups, the supplier recommends strong braided line with a high breaking strain, but does not specify a line rating.
SeaGuide guides without ceramic inserts avoid the risk of ceramic inserts chipping or breaking after hard contact. This construction suits intensive sessions where the tackle may take knocks. A size 20 SeaGuide XDPS reel seat holds the reel firmly when fighting a powerful fish.
The two-piece construction reduces the 300 cm fishing length to a transport length of 155 cm. This makes moving between swims easier, while still requiring enough storage space for the packed sections.
