It is designed for distance fishing and heavy buoy rigs targeting wels catfish. The 200–400 g casting range and powerful 24T carbon blank suit heavy setups and controlling large fish at distance, so choose it for that work rather than light presentations.
The size 20 SeaGuide XDPS reel seat is suitable for large fixed-spool reels, but check the fit of the reel foot. The supplier recommends 0.40–0.60 mm braid or comparable breaking strain with a strong monofilament or fluorocarbon leader, giving a starting point for a heavy catfish setup.
The 270 cm rod separates into two sections and has a transport length of 140 cm. Allow for that length in your vehicle or rod bag. Its stated weight is 394 g, useful when planning tackle for mobile fishing.
The SeaGuide guides avoid ceramic inserts that could crack or chip during use and transport. They still need regular checks for damage, as does the reel seat. Rinse the rod with clean water, dry it thoroughly and store it dry in a rod bag to protect the blank from scratches.
It is primarily aimed at experienced anglers because of its powerful blank and 200–400 g casting range. Beginners with basic catfish-fishing knowledge who plan to use heavy rigs can consider it, but should choose it for those setups rather than as a light all-round rod.

The Madcat X-Zibit Heavy Duty is a catfish rod for distance fishing and heavy buoy rigs on larger waters. Its powerful 24T carbon blank provides leverage for controlling large wels catfish at distance or in deep water. The 270 cm version has a casting weight of 200–400 g, making it a choice for heavy rigs rather than light presentations.
SeaGuide guides have no ceramic inserts, removing the risk of cracked or chipped ceramic inserts during demanding use and transport. The size 20 SeaGuide XDPS reel seat holds the reel securely under load. It is suitable for large fixed-spool reels, but check that your reel foot fits before choosing a reel.
This two-piece rod weighs 394 g and packs down to 140 cm. The divided construction makes it easier to carry between fishing spots, while the transport length tells you how much space to allow in your vehicle or rod bag.
The supplier recommends strong braided line of 0.40–0.60 mm or comparable breaking strain, paired with a strong monofilament or fluorocarbon leader. The guides are suitable for heavy braid. The heavy casting range and powerful blank are aimed mainly at experienced catfish anglers. Beginners with basic catfish-fishing knowledge who intend to use heavy rigs can also consider it.
Rinse the rod with clean water and dry it thoroughly before storage. Check the guides and reel seat regularly for damage, store it in a dry place and use a rod bag to protect the blank from scratches.
