It is designed for vertical jigging in freshwater, targeting catfish and other predators. Its short 1.70 m format and sensitive blank suit this direct-contact approach, so choose it for vertical presentations.
The lure rating is 50–125 g, with Fast action and Medium power. Use that stated weight range to select your lures rather than assuming the rating of another catfish rod.
The 1.70 m rod has a two-section 1+1 construction and a transport length of 1.11 m. Allow at least that internal length when choosing storage for the dismantled rod.
The fighter foregrip has anti-slip X-wrap shrink tube for improved grip and easier cleaning after use. The ergonomic SeaGuide reel seat uses two locking nuts to hold the reel in place during the fight.

The Madcat White Close Combat is a freshwater catfish rod for vertical jigging, also suitable for other predators. Its slim 30TC nano-carbon blank combines a lighter, more sensitive design with direct feedback during the fight, helping you feel the fish's movements.
This white rod measures 1.70 m, weighs 190 g and has a 50–125 g lure rating, giving you a clear weight range for choosing your lures. It has a Fast action and Medium power. The 1+1 construction comprises two sections and reduces the transport length to 1.11 m, so allow that much space in your rod storage.
The split grip uses shrink tube and EVA, with an EVA butt. X-wrap anti-slip shrink tube covers the fighter foregrip, improving your hold during the fight and making the surface easier to clean afterwards. The ergonomic SeaGuide reel seat has a dual locking nut system to keep the reel securely in place.
Seven lightweight Seaguide XB guides, including the tip guide, guide the line along the blank. The sensitive blank and grip layout support the rod's focus on vertical fishing with direct feedback from the fish.
