It is designed for active lure fishing for smaller and medium-sized catfish in freshwater canals and ponds. It is also suitable for pike and fishing from a boat or belly boat, making it an option for these uses rather than a rod focused on the largest catfish.
The 2.25 m model is rated for 50–100 g, with Medium power and Medium Fast action. Choose lures within this stated casting range. Its lighter design is relative to catfish tackle, not an ultralight lure rating.
The rod separates into two sections and has a transport length of 129 cm, compared with 2.25 m assembled. Allow at least that length in your rod storage space. It weighs 275 g and is packaged in a nylon bag.
The rod has eight Seaguide anti-tangle guides including the tip, which help reduce tangles during casting. Its ergonomic Fuji TVS-TJS16 reel seat uses a double lock to secure the reel during active fishing.

The Madcat Green Light Spin is a freshwater catfish spinning rod for small canals and ponds holding smaller and medium-sized fish. Its sensitive yet powerful 24T Carbon blank brings a lighter approach to active lure fishing rather than focusing on the largest catfish. It is also suitable for pike and for fishing from a boat or belly boat.
This 2.25 m model has a 50–100 g casting weight, Medium power and Medium Fast action. Use the stated casting range to match your lures. The lighter design is intended for relatively light catfish lure fishing, not ultralight tackle. The rod weighs 275 g.
Eight Seaguide guides, including the tip, use an anti-tangle design to help reduce line tangles during casting. The ergonomic Fuji TVS-TJS16 reel seat has a double-lock mechanism to secure the reel during active fishing. The handle uses shrink tube and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), with an EVA butt.
The two-piece construction reduces the 2.25 m fishing length to a transport length of 129 cm, so check this length against your rod storage space. The rod has a green finish with updated graphics and comes packaged in a nylon bag.
