It is designed for vertical catfish fishing in freshwater, especially jigging with baitfish. Worms and artificial lures are also supported. The short 1.7 m length suits handling from a boat or belly boat, with a specified lure rating of 50–125 g.
No, the supplier explicitly states that it is not designed for casting. Its small guides reduce weight and improve blank response for vertical presentations, so choose it for fishing beneath the boat rather than casting to distant spots.
The 1+1 construction has a detachable handle and a continuous blank. Removing the handle gives a transport length of 129 cm, so allow that much space rather than expecting two equal-length sections.
The 24T Carbon blank combines a Fast action with the supplier's Medium power rating. Small Seaguide guides help keep weight down to 214 g and preserve blank response, while the powerful blank supports hook-setting and playing large catfish.

The Madcat Green Close Combat is a freshwater catfish rod designed for vertical jigging with baitfish from a boat or belly boat. Its short 1.7 m design is easy to handle in limited space, while the sensitive, powerful blank provides the strength to set the hook and play large catfish. Worms and artificial lures are also supported bait options for vertical fishing.
The 24T Carbon blank has a Fast action and a supplier-rated Medium power, with a 50–125 g lure rating. Seven Seaguide guides including the tip are deliberately small to reduce weight and keep the blank responsive. The rod weighs 214 g. Despite the weight rating, this is a vertical fishing specialist, not a rod designed for casting.
The ergonomic Fuji TVS-TJS16 reel seat has a double-lock mechanism to secure the reel during use. The handle combines shrink tube and EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), with an EVA butt.
The green rod uses a 1+1 construction, with a continuous blank and detachable handle rather than a joint midway along the blank. Removing the handle reduces its transport length to 129 cm. Packaging is a nylon bag.
