The MADCAT BLACK CAT-STICK is a freshwater catfish rod for buoy fishing and float fishing with heavy baitfish, as well as bait fishing from a boat. Its glass-fibre blank is designed to withstand powerful catfish and rough handling during busy sessions.
The 3 m rod has a 150–300 g casting rating, Heavy power and a parabolic action that bends through the blank when playing fish. It suits static buoy and underwater-float rigs in rivers and stillwaters. The sensitive, visibly coloured tip helps show cautious bites.
Eleven guides including the tip guide use double-wrapped SeaGuide® AG fittings without a shock ring. The reinforced bindings and heavy-duty Jinke aluminium reel seat in size #22 are chosen for the loads of catfish fishing, with the seat holding large, heavy reels securely.
The full grip has EVA with an anti-slip shrink-tube covering on the fighting grip. Thick rubber gripping surfaces support secure handling, and the rod butt is rubber.
