A removable insert holds the bottles in place to help prevent spills and damage, and padded walls provide cushioning. The reinforced carry handle lets you carry the bottles together in the bag.
The outer fabric is water-repellent and the lining is wipe-clean, so spills inside can be wiped away. The stated protection is water repellency of the fabric, not a waterproof seal for the whole bag.
