The Gamakatsu Akilas 80XXH is a spinning rod for active pike and zander fishing with heavy artificial lures. Its very fast blank supports casting, controlled lure presentation and bite detection when working larger lures or weighted soft shads.
At 240 cm with a casting weight of 25–80 g, this model handles large swimbaits, plugs and other pike lures, as well as soft shads on heavy jig heads for zander and pike. Choose lure setups within that casting range. The Fuji guides support accurate, long-distance casts, and the rod also has a Fuji reel seat.
The rod weighs 223 g and has a durable cork/EVA handle. A hook keeper provides a place to secure the hook between casts. Its two-piece construction reduces the transport length to 124 cm, which is the length to allow for when choosing storage or carrying space.
