The FTM Forellenkletterer is a simple visual bite indicator for trout pond and trout lake fishing. It releases the line on the take so the fish can move off without resistance, and it also drops when a trout swims toward the rod.
The rod lies horizontally on two rests with the tip pointing toward the bait. With the bail arm open, the indicator is pushed into the ground below the reel and the line is placed between the indicator and the rod.
On a taking fish, the Forellenkletterer rises upward and frees the line. If the trout moves toward the angler and creates slack, the indicator drops down so that movement is still easy to spot.
This setup suits stillwater trout fishing where a clear visual cue and low resistance are important. The 60 cm length gives enough height for practical bank use.
