No. It can also be used in shallower water, but its increased buoyancy is designed primarily to resist water pressure at greater depths and help maintain the bait's position. No numerical depth rating is supplied, so there is no stated maximum operating depth to use for setup planning.
It is intended for zig fishing for carp away from the bottom, including in midwater or near the surface. The XL buoyancy is aimed particularly at deep-water use, making this a kit for suspended presentations rather than conventional bottom-bait fishing.

The Fox Edges Zig Aligna XL Multi Foam Kit supplies foam sticks for zig fishing for carp, particularly in deep water. The XL version provides increased buoyancy to resist water pressure and help keep the presentation at the chosen depth. It is intended for carp feeding off the bottom, including in midwater or near the surface.
The XL version is designed to withstand deep-water pressure better than standard versions, helping maintain the bait's position. It can also be used in shallower water, although its main purpose is deep-water fishing. No specific depth rating is supplied.
The supplier describes the Zig Aligna XL system's lifelike ribbed design as improving hook holds compared with foam mounted conventionally on a knotless-knot rig. The system also allows stronger knots to be used, supporting secure presentations when playing carp. These are features of the Aligna system, not additional components included in this foam kit.
The Multi Foam Kit contains three foam sticks, one each in red, yellow and black, giving you three colour options for different conditions. The separately available Multi Sleeve Kit contains three sleeves per colour instead. Choose this kit for foam rather than sleeves.
