It is a component kit, not a complete pre-tied rig. You receive six Zig Aligna sleeves, three lengths of Zig Aligna HD Foam and one loading tool, with black, red and yellow sleeves and foam. You still need a hook and hooklink to build the rig.
The sleeves suit hook sizes 6 to 10. The system allows a Palomar or Grinner knot rather than requiring a knotless knot, so you can use these connections while the aligner holds the foam hookbait centrally.
Use the supplied loading tool to pass the chosen foam through the rear loop, withdraw the tool and trim the foam to size. The loop grips the insert firmly for casting. Black, red and yellow foam and sleeves can be mixed, letting you change the colour combination without replacing the whole setup.
Yes. Slide the aligner up the hooklink and attach a replacement hook. Unlike a Zig Bug-style hookbait that is discarded with its hook, this arrangement lets you retain the aligner and foam when only the hook needs replacing.

The Fox Edges Zig Aligna Kit provides sleeves, buoyant foam and a loading tool for building carp zig presentations. Its soft plastic aligner has a moulded rear loop that holds the foam centrally and grips it firmly during casting. The curved body and foam head imitate the shape of an emerging insect larva.
The sleeves suit hook sizes 6 to 10. Compared with the Line Aligna Adaptor on which it is based, the Zig Aligna uses softer, more buoyant plastic. The dense, highly buoyant foam can be trimmed to small sizes, allowing you to adjust the hookbait profile. Choose a foam colour, use the supplied loading tool to pass it through the rear loop, then withdraw the tool and trim the foam to your preferred size. The loop retains the insert without leaving foam or fibres around the hook point.
The aligner keeps the hookbait centred rather than letting a hair sit to one side on light monofilament. Fox describes a wider effective gape than a standard knotless-knot or Zig Bug-style setup, giving the hook point more room to penetrate and helping resist ejection.
You can attach the hook with a Palomar or Grinner knot instead of a knotless knot. Fox states that these knots provide a stronger connection in this setup and prevent the hook eye from rubbing and weakening the hooklink while playing a fish. If the hook point is damaged, slide the aligner up the hooklink to replace the hook and retain the hookbait components.
