It is designed for freshwater carp baiting with spods. Its dedicated spod spool and three round metal line clips let you retain different distances for repeated baiting casts.
Yes, the 7000S version is pre-spooled with 200 m of 30 lb 4x dark green braid, so you do not need to load the main line yourself. The separate capacity rating of 200 m at 0.30 mm applies to monofilament, not the diameter of the supplied braid.
The reel has a fast-setting front drag rated to a maximum of 15 kg and weighs 590 g. The drag can be adjusted quickly, while the stated weight helps you assess the total weight of your spod setup.

The DAM DARKSIDE 4B SPOD is a freshwater spinning reel developed for carp anglers using spods to deliver bait. Its dedicated Aluminium Dynamic Design spod spool has three round metal line clips, allowing you to retain different casting distances for repeated baiting. The reel uses the established large Quick reel sizes and larger gearing for this work.
The supplier designation is DARKSIDE 4B SPOD 7000S 3.1BB 30LB BRAID. This 7000S version comes pre-spooled with 200 m of 30 lb 4x dark green braided line, so you do not need to load the main line yourself. The stated monofilament capacity is 200 m at 0.30 mm, a separate specification from the included braid.
The high line retrieve rate helps bring spods back quickly between baiting casts. The gear ratio is 5.1:1. The aluminium handle has a large TPE knob to grip while winding, and the infinite anti-reverse system prevents backward handle rotation. The fast-setting front drag allows quick adjustment and has a maximum drag of 15 kg. An oversized aluminium bail forms part of the line-handling assembly.
The body and rotor are graphite. Inside, 3+1 sealed steel ball bearings and a machine-cut pinion gear support the drive. The reel weighs 590 g, a useful figure when choosing the overall weight of your baiting setup.
