No, the Carolina rig comes pre-assembled with a 75 cm fluorocarbon leader, size 1/0 hook, 6.5 cm softbait and 10 g lead weight. You do not need to tie these components into a rig yourself before fishing.
It is primarily intended for perch, with a 6.5 cm softbait moving freely behind the 10 g weight. Gentle twitches give the bait natural movement for controlled presentation. Other predators are mentioned as possible targets, but no specific additional species are named.
The 75 cm leader has a diameter of 0.33 mm and is abrasion-resistant and barely visible underwater. Its low visibility can be useful in clear water when you want a less conspicuous leader presentation.

The Balzer Ready to Fish Carolina Perch is a pre-assembled Carolina rig for predator fishing, particularly perch. Its fluorocarbon leader, hook, 6.5 cm softbait and 10 g lead weight are already assembled, saving you the work of tying the rig at the water. It suits both beginners and experienced lure anglers.
The softbait moves freely behind the weight. Gentle twitches give it natural movement, while the 10 g weight supports controlled presentation and a slow descent of the bait. The rig can be used in different types of water and is primarily intended for perch, although the supplier also identifies other predators as possible targets.
The rig is tied with a 75 cm fluorocarbon leader measuring 0.33 mm in diameter. The material is abrasion-resistant and barely visible underwater, which can be useful in clear water. A size 1/0 hook is matched to the softbait to help convert bites into hooked fish.
