Yes. The white diode flashes at bites even with the sound off and stays lit for 20 seconds after the line stops. A switchable continuous night light illuminates both diodes and the roller red, providing visibility after dark.
It is intended for freshwater fishing for carp, pike, zander, tench, eel and large coarse fish. Its free-running roller also responds when freelining, so it is not limited to carp setups.
When the roller turns towards the angler, the alarm produces a second tone regardless of the selected pitch. You can therefore distinguish this direction of line movement by sound without watching the rod.
There are six sensitivity levels, eight volume levels including silent, and six pitches. This lets you adapt sensitivity to conditions and distinguish several alarms by pitch. All settings are retained after switching off, so you do not need to enter them again each session.
Yes. The standard English thread fits conventional banksticks, and a rubber ring helps secure its position. The aluminium snag bar is already screwed into the housing to prevent sideways rod slippage, so you do not need to buy a separate snag bar.
Yes. The MK-X1 has a sounderbox/swinger connection, allowing it to be used as part of an expanded bite-indication setup. A socket size or compatible accessory model list is not specified.
You need three AAA batteries. They are not included, so purchase them separately to power the alarm.

The Balzer MK Adventure MK-X1 is a compact electronic bite indicator for freshwater fishing, aimed at beginners and all-round anglers. Its free-running roller responds to gentle line movement, including when freelining. Audible signals and two light-emitting diodes (LEDs) indicate bites, while a separate drop-back tone distinguishes line moving towards the angler. The supplier lists carp, pike, zander, tench, eel and large coarse fish as intended targets.
The left white diode flashes at each bite, including in silent mode, while the right red diode remains lit. Once the line stops, the white diode stays on for 20 seconds, leaving a visible indication after movement has ended.
For drop-back bites, the roller turning towards the angler triggers a second tone regardless of the selected pitch. This gives an audible distinction between directions of line movement, particularly useful in carp fishing. Strike and Run functions are also listed.
Choose from six sensitivity levels to suit wind and changing conditions, eight volume levels including silent, and six pitches to help distinguish alarms when fishing several rods. All settings remain stored after switching off. Three beeps confirm that the alarm has been switched on.
A button activates the continuous night light. In this mode, both the twin diodes and the roller glow red, making the alarm visible after dark.
An aluminium snag bar is screwed firmly into the housing to prevent the rod slipping sideways. It is already integrated, so a separate snag bar is not needed. The standard English thread fits conventional banksticks, with a rubber ring helping to hold the alarm in position. A steel clamp guides the line smoothly onto the roller.
The alarm has a sounderbox/swinger connection for use within an expanded bite-indication setup.
The MK-X1 requires three AAA batteries. These are not included and must be purchased separately.
