Yes, the supplier specifies mackerel fishing from a boat, pier or harbour edge. The same four-hook paternoster therefore covers these boat and shore situations, rather than being restricted to boat use.
The 180 cm rig has four size 1 hooks, a 0.60 mm main rig line and 0.40 mm snoods. These are the dimensions to compare with your intended mackerel setup, with the main rig line thicker than the individual hook snoods.
They provide visual attraction for mackerel. The glitter fringes reflect light to imitate the shimmer of small fish and move in the water, making this a visually focused presentation for clear water, changing light and deeper water layers.

This mackerel paternoster uses four size 1 hooks dressed with multicoloured glitter fringes and beads to attract fish. It is designed for sea fishing from a boat, pier or harbour edge.
The fringes reflect light in different colours, creating a small-fish shimmer. Together with the beads, they provide visual attraction, particularly in clear water and changing light conditions. The moving fringes also give the presentation movement to attract mackerel in deeper water.
The rig is 180 cm long, with a 0.60 mm main rig line and 0.40 mm hook snoods. The thicker main rig line provides the supporting backbone, while the finer snoods allow a natural presentation. Four size 1 hooks provide four dressed attraction points on the same rig.
