The Balzer Fischgalgen (fish stringer) is a 2.5 m carrying line built so you can trail caught fish safely behind you while wading, with five large metal hooks and a safety carabiner that clips straight to your belt.
Clip the carabiner to your wading belt and let the rope tow the catch through the water. Both hands stay free for the rod, which makes the Fischgalgen a natural companion for spin fishing sea trout, garfish and cod from the surf or rocky shore.
Five generously sized metal hooks are spaced along the rope and each hook is fitted with a safety spring, so hooked fish stay in place between steps. The large hook gape also accepts bigger predators without fiddly threading.
At 2.50 m total length the rope keeps the fish well behind your wading boots and out of the way while you work the next cast or fight another fish.
The stringer stows compactly in a jacket pocket, and the carabiner doubles as a quick-release so you can drop the catch at the car or cleaning station without untying knots.
