The MGX 20 SP weighs 170 g, with a one-piece X-Mag™ magnesium-alloy gear housing, a C6 carbon body and rotor, and a carbon-reinforced bail that reduces weight without sacrificing stability. This low weight is useful when repeatedly casting and retrieving throughout a session.
The 6.2:1 gear ratio retrieves 84 cm of line per handle turn, helping you pick up slack and retrieve lures quickly. Machined aluminium gears, the AMGearing™ System and computer-optimised gear design provide smooth running and durability. Ten stainless-steel bearings and one roller bearing give 11 bearings in total, supporting smooth operation, with corrosion resistance stated for the bearing system.
The Carbon Matrix™ drag system has a maximum drag of 6.4 kg. This is the reel's maximum braking force, not a recommended setting for every line. The compact, curved carbon handle has an ergonomic EVA knob for a comfortable grip during repeated retrieves, and the main shaft is made from aircraft-grade aluminium.
