It helps you repeat the amount of line released, supporting bait presentations at different depths when salmon trolling. It measures line out rather than the bait's actual depth, so use it to reproduce line settings rather than as a depth gauge.
Yes, the Cardinal Trolling is specified for both. Its line counter supports salmon trolling, while the aluminium power handle provides cranking leverage for large baits when fishing for cod or halibut at sea. It is also suitable for pirking.
The 20LC has a right-hand retrieve. Choose it for a setup where you want to turn the handle with your right hand, with a stated retrieve of 66 cm per turn.
It holds 265 m of 0.35 mm monofilament or 215 m of 0.38 mm monofilament. Choose your line diameter with that capacity difference in mind, as the thicker option reduces the available length by 50 m.

The Abu Garcia Cardinal Trolling is a conventional reel with a line counter for trolling in freshwater and saltwater. The counter helps you repeat line-out settings and present baits at different depths when trolling for salmon. Its hard-wearing construction also suits sea fishing with large baits for cod and halibut, and the reel can be used for pirking.
The single aluminium power handle provides cranking leverage when retrieving large baits. Two ball bearings support a smooth gear feel, while the bait clicker can be switched on or off. A multi-disc star drag provides a maximum drag of 6.8 kg.
The 20LC has a right-hand retrieve, a 5.3:1 gear ratio and a retrieve of 66 cm per handle turn. It weighs 275 g and has a graphite spool. Monofilament capacity is 265 m of 0.35 mm line or 215 m of 0.38 mm line, so the thicker of these two options leaves less line on the spool.
