They are pike deadbait rods for fishing with dead baitfish. Powerful 24T Carbon blanks and Extra Heavy power support heavy-bait casting and fighting large pike, making baitfish fishing their primary intended use.
The 902XH measures 2.74 m and weighs 230 g, while the 1002XH measures 3 m and weighs 257 g. Choose the 902XH for a shorter, lighter rod, or the 1002XH for 26 cm more reach. Both have two sections, Extra Heavy power and Moderate Fast action.
Both models have a 150 g casting rating. The 1002XH is explicitly rated up to 150 g, while the 902XH is listed at 150 g. Use this specification when choosing bait weight, but do not assume a minimum casting weight because none is supplied.
Both rods separate into two sections. The 902XH has a 140 cm transport length and the 1002XH a 155 cm transport length. If storage length is limited, the 902XH saves 15 cm of packed length.

The Beast Pike deadbait rods are built for pike fishing with dead baitfish. Their powerful 24T Carbon blanks provide the strength needed to cast heavy baits and fight large fish. Both versions have Extra Heavy power, Moderate Fast action and a two-section construction. Beast is the lower-priced tier beneath Beast X and Beast Pro in Abu Garcia's pike rod range.
The 902XH is 2.74 m long, weighs 230 g and packs down to 140 cm. Choose it for a shorter, lighter rod that takes up less space in transport. The 1002XH is 3 m long, weighs 257 g and has a transport length of 155 cm. It provides 26 cm more reach, at the cost of 27 g more weight and 15 cm more packed length. Both have a 150 g casting rating, with the 1002XH explicitly rated up to 150 g. No minimum casting weight is specified.
Strong stainless steel double-leg guides support the line during casting and when playing large pike. Both models use anti-tangle LTS guides to help reduce line tangles around the guides. Strong, lightweight reel seats hold the reel in place without unnecessary weight. The 1002XH has a DPS Type reel seat.
Both dark brown rods have split grips made from high-density EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), giving your hands a secure hold when casting and playing fish. The two-section design reduces their length for transport, but check the 140 cm or 155 cm packed length against your available storage space.
