Choose C-7000 if you want to wind with your right hand, or C-7001 if you prefer your left. Both are size 7000 with 4.1:1 gearing, 56cm retrieve and 9kg maximum drag, so handle side is the main difference in those specifications.
Yes. The supplier describes saltwater suitability and a corrosion-resistant instant anti-reverse bearing, alongside a freshwater water-type listing. These are large-fish round reels with 9kg maximum drag, so saltwater use is supported, but the evidence does not establish a specific offshore species or depth rating.
You need your own line because neither reel is pre-spooled. Both have an aluminum spool and capacity ratings for mono and braid, but no spare spool is included. Choose your main line before preparing the reel, and do not expect a second spool for quick line changes.
The centrifugal casting brake controls spool rotation during a cast. The multi-disc star drag controls line release under load, with a maximum of 9kg. They handle different tasks, so casting control does not replace drag adjustment for fighting a fish.

These size 7000 round baitcasting reels are designed for fishing for large fish in freshwater and saltwater. A synchronized level wind distributes line evenly across the aluminum spool and supports a smooth retrieve. Choose C-7000 for right-hand winding or C-7001 for left-hand winding.
A centrifugal casting brake helps control the spool during casts. The multi-disc star drag provides smooth, consistent pressure throughout its adjustment range, with a maximum drag of 9kg. Carbon Matrix drag washers are part of the star drag system. Casting control and fighting drag serve separate roles, so the reel supports both controlled casts and pressure on a running fish.
The extended bent handle with a large power knob increases cranking torque and brings the winding hand closer to the reel during a fight. Its ergonomic grip is designed to remain secure in rain and spray. The Duragear™ brass main gear transmits the winding force, while the corrosion-resistant instant anti-reverse bearing prevents backward handle movement. A line clicker is also fitted.
Both versions have a 4.1:1 gear ratio, two bearings and a retrieve of 56cm per handle turn. The relatively slow gearing suits a measured retrieve rather than rapid line pickup. Both accept monofilament and braid. Converted from the supplier's yard and pound ratings, mono capacity is approximately 297m at 7.71kg, 229m at 9.07kg or 210m at 11.34kg. Braid capacity is approximately 471m at 13.61kg, 384m at 18.14kg or 329m at 22.68kg. These are line-capacity references, not supplied line.
Neither version is pre-spooled, and neither includes a spare spool. Select and load your own line before fishing. The aluminum spool and synchronized line guide are shared by both models.
C-7000 places the handle on the right. C-7001 places it on the left and has a stated reel weight of 610g. A diameter-based capacity of 230m of 0.46mm line is also listed for C-7001. The two versions share their size, gearing, maximum drag and retrieve rate, so handle position is the principal selection criterion. Choose the side you want to wind with rather than expecting a difference in those shared specifications.
