It is a freshwater spincast, or encapsulated, reel with an aluminium front cone. It is also described for spinning and predator fishing, so it offers a closed-face option for that use rather than an open-face spinning reel.
The reel is not pre-spooled. Its capacity is 100 m of 0.25 mm line for both monofilament and braid, and polymeric spare spools are included. Choose and spool your line before use, with the spare spools available for alternative setups.
Yes. The handle is ambidextrous with right or left positioning, and the anti-reverse has an on/off switch. You can use your preferred winding hand and choose whether backward handle rotation is prevented.
The 4.5:1 gearing takes in 56 cm per handle turn. The dial-adjusted Carbon Matrix drag is rated to a maximum of 5.4 kg. These figures let you compare retrieve speed and maximum drag capacity with your intended setup, while the dial lets you adjust resistance during use.

The Abu Garcia 507 MkII is an encapsulated reel for freshwater fishing, also described for spinning and predator fishing. Its Carbon Matrix drag system provides adjustable resistance when a fish takes line. Abu Garcia presents it as a more powerful version of the 506 MKII.
The 4.5:1 gearing retrieves 56 cm of line per handle turn, giving you a reference for controlling retrieve speed. A five-bearing system supports smooth winding. The dial-adjusted Carbon Matrix drag has a maximum rating of 5.4 kg, while an on/off anti-reverse switch lets you choose whether backward handle rotation is blocked.
An advanced polymeric body and aluminium front cone form the reel's closed-face construction. The size 507 reel weighs 408 g and has a black and silver finish. Its ambidextrous handle can be used on either side, so you can match it to your preferred winding hand.
The polymeric spool holds 100 m of 0.25 mm monofilament or 100 m of 0.25 mm braid. The reel is supplied without pre-spooled line, so you need to fit your chosen line before fishing. Polymeric spare spools are included, allowing you to prepare alternative line setups without buying separate spools.
