It is intended for perch and other predators with small lures. The 1.98 m rod has Medium Light power, a Fast action and a 5–20 g casting weight, so select lures within that range rather than heavier ones.
Choose a baitcasting reel. The supplier identifies this as a baitcasting rod with an Evolve Custom Ported Soft Touch reel seat, so it is the casting version to select for a baitcaster setup rather than a fixed-spool spinning setup.
Allow for a transport length of 105 cm. The 1.98 m rod separates into two sections, so choose protection that accommodates that packed length and secure loose hooks and line before carrying it.

The Fate Black Casting is a baitcasting rod for fishing small lures for perch and other predators. Its sensitive PVG30T carbon blank and Evolve Custom Ported Soft Touch reel seat transmit feedback to the hand, helping you notice cautious takes. The blank combines sensitivity with responsive recovery and hand-tuned tapers.
This 1.98 m version has Medium Light power, a Fast action and a casting weight of 5–20 g. Choose lures within that range and pair the rod with a baitcasting reel. At 149 g, it provides a light setup for active lure fishing.
The split grip uses high-density EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate), while the Soft Touch reel seat provides the contact point for feeling bites. Hand-wrapped Evolve Tangle Free stainless steel guides direct the line along the blank, with eight guides plus the tip guide. The Evolve Snag-less Hook Keeper gives you a place to secure the hook between casts. Evolve Fox Hole is also part of the supplied feature set.
The two-section construction reduces the rod to a transport length of 105 cm, so use that measurement when choosing storage or transport protection. Store it dry and protected from extreme temperatures, preferably in a sleeve or rod tube to avoid knocks and pressure. Secure loose line and hooks for transport.
Inspect the blank, guides and section joints before use, and check that the joints are firmly seated. Do not use a damaged rod or modify it. Observe the 5–20 g casting limit, keep clear of other people and power lines when casting, and do not fish with the rod during thunderstorms. Children should use it only under adult supervision.
