The Madcat Green Pellet is a dedicated catfish spinning rod designed for pellet fishing, optimised for tripod use and boat fishing with its compact 3.10 m length.
As pellet fishing for catfish evolves, so does the approach. The Green Pellet rod moves away from the traditional 3.60 m design, now measuring 3.10 m to better suit modern setups. The shorter length allows the rod to stand upright in a tripod, lifting the line higher out of the water and reducing the risk of snags. When fishing from a boat, the reduced length makes playing fish considerably easier and more enjoyable.
Built around a 24T carbon blank, the Green Pellet delivers a balance of sensitivity and power. With a casting weight range of 200–400 g and an extra heavy power rating, it handles heavy rigs and strong catfish with confidence. The medium fast action provides a responsive tip for bite detection while retaining enough backbone for powerful hook sets.
The rod features SeaGuide rings across 9 guides including the tip, paired with an original Fuji DPS reel seat for secure reel mounting. The Shrink Tube EVA handle provides a comfortable, non-slip grip in wet conditions. Weighing just 399 g, the 2-piece rod breaks down to a transport length of 160 cm and comes in a nylon bag for protection.
