The Catextreme Big Cat is Black Cat's workhorse fixed-spool reel (FS, a front-drag stationary reel) for serious catfish angling, engineered to handle the punishing loads that come with targeting mature Wels.
Black Cat designed the Catextreme in three popular sizes so every style — from active vertical work to bank-based long-range presentations — has a matching reel in the line-up.
Both the housing and the rotor are produced entirely from aluminium, giving the reel a completely distortion-free chassis even under extreme loads.
An oversized multi-stack Offshore drag delivers smooth, dependable pressure during long fights, which is essential when a heavy catfish turns toward snags.
The Catextreme has been developed specifically for braided mainlines. Paired with the aluminium Long Stroke spool and S-curve line distribution, it keeps casting distance high and retrieval harmonious even with bulky catfish baits. A continuous anti-reverse and robust power gears round off the drivetrain.
