The Savage Gear Alpha SG6 Pelagic Vertical BC (Baitcasting) casting rod was developed specifically for vertical fishing with live-sonar technology, targeting large pike in open water.
At 195 cm with a casting weight of 40–140 g, this rod is built for presenting softbaits vertically from a boat. The moderate-fast action combined with an extra-heavy power rating delivers excellent lure control while providing the backbone needed for a powerful hookset on big pike.
The Japanese Torayca 30/40T carbon blank with 4X Wrap construction weighs just 167 g, making it extremely responsive and forgiving. Even the lightest bites are transmitted clearly, allowing anglers to maximise bait control during vertical presentations.
The SeaGuide CCS stainless steel guides with SiN ring inserts are mounted in a spiral pattern, routing the line along the underside of the blank. This design prevents line tangling around the rod tip while tapping or jigging the bait — a common issue during vertical fishing.
The premium cork handle features a slightly wider, flattened rear grip section that provides extra support during the hookset and fight. A Fuji reel seat ensures a secure and reliable reel connection.
