The 2500HG, C3000HG and C5000HG use a 6.2:1 gear ratio and retrieve 88, 93 and 103 cm per turn. The other versions use 5.2:1. Compared with the 2500 and C3000, their HG partners offer faster line recovery at the same stated weight and capacity, so choose within each pair by the retrieve speed you need.
The 1000 holds 200 m of 0.12 mm mono and the C2000 holds 150 m of 0.16 mm, both at 210 g. The 4000 holds 190 m of 0.25 mm at 320 g, while the C5000HG holds 330 m of 0.25 mm at 345 g. Compare capacities at the stated diameter, then weigh the extra line reserve against the heavier reel.
Yes, every version supports right- or left-hand handle placement. All have a one-piece handle, with paddle knobs on 1000 and C2000, T-grips on 2500 through 4000, and a power knob on C5000HG. You can choose your preferred winding side on any version, while the grip shape depends on size.
No. Instant anti-reverse is specified for 1000, C2000, 2500, 2500HG, C3000 and C3000HG, while 4000 and C5000HG are specified without anti-reverse. If this function is important to your handling, compare this difference before choosing the larger-capacity versions.
The range is described for freshwater perch, pike and zander fishing, including jigging and retrieving large crankbaits, with inshore use also stated. The 1000, C2000, 2500 and 4000 are also described for freshwater trout. Choose by the listed capacity and retrieve rather than assuming that every size offers the same setup.

The Savage Gear Exorus is a front-drag spinning reel for freshwater lure fishing for perch, pike and zander, with inshore applications also stated for the range. Its K-Alloy body and GRC rotor provide a stable construction for jigging and retrieving crankbaits, including large crankbaits. Eight versions from 1000 to C5000HG let you compare line capacity, retrieve speed and reel weight.
The sealed 6+1 stainless steel bearing system works with Duragrease and Duraoil for smooth gears and drag. The Hydro Sealed Drag uses carbon washers in the Friction Control System 3 V2, giving controlled line release during a fight. The aluminium spool has a tapered lip designed to increase casting distance and reduce wind knots, useful when repeatedly casting lures.
The 1000 and C2000 are the lightest options at 210 g, with different capacities for fine monofilament. The 2500 and 2500HG both weigh 260 g and hold 230 m of 0.16 mm mono. Choose the 2500HG for its faster 88 cm retrieve rather than the 2500's 63 cm. The C3000 and C3000HG both weigh 280 g and hold 150 m of 0.23 mm mono, with 66 cm and 93 cm retrieves respectively. These HG versions increase retrieve speed without increasing the stated reel weight or changing capacity within their size pair.
The 4000 holds 190 m of 0.25 mm mono at 320 g. The C5000HG holds 330 m of the same diameter and retrieves 103 cm per turn, trading an increase to 345 g for more capacity and faster line recovery. The 1000, C2000, 2500 and 4000 are also described for freshwater trout fishing.

All versions have a one-piece handle that can be fitted on the right or left. The 1000 and C2000 use a rubberized paddle knob. The 2500, 2500HG, C3000, C3000HG and 4000 use a rubberized T-grip, while the C5000HG has a rubberized power knob. These different grip shapes let you choose the handling style alongside capacity and speed.
Instant anti-reverse is specified on the 1000, C2000, 2500, 2500HG, C3000 and C3000HG. The 4000 and C5000HG are specified without anti-reverse, an important difference if that function is part of your preferred handling. All versions have a Black/Gunsmoke finish.
