The Balzer Edition Sea Surf Rig Sturmvorfach (storm rig) is a pre-tied surf trace built for beach angling when the wind picks up and the sea gets serious. At 85 cm it strikes the right balance between presentation and casting performance.
The design addresses one of beach fishing's trickiest challenges: keeping baited hooks aerodynamic during the cast and then freeing them instantly on water entry. Each of the two hook snoods can be clipped up against the body of the rig for a streamlined flight, then automatically releases the moment the rig hits the surface — so your worm baits spread naturally without any fuss.
Both hook snoods carry attractor beads that add visual flash and light vibration in coloured or murky water — exactly the conditions you encounter in a proper surf. The size 1 worm hooks are matched to classic surf baits like lugworm and ragworm, and the combination is well suited to flounder, plaice, dab, and Baltic cod. Leader diameter is 0.65 mm, snood diameter 0.50 mm, providing the right step-down for natural bait movement.
