The Ryobi Virtus Free Spool (baitrunner) reel delivers a finely adjustable freespool system and a robust carbon drag in a compact size 2500 body — an excellent choice for carp anglers and any situation where open-spool presentation is needed.
The hallmark of this reel is its highly sensitive, infinitely adjustable baitrunner mechanism. It can be engaged or disengaged in any fishing situation, letting line run freely to a taking fish without resistance, then instantly switching to full fighting drag with a single turn of the handle. The water- and dust-resistant carbon drag delivers smooth, consistent pressure up to 6 kg.
The aluminium spool features a rubber skirt that prevents braided line from slipping — a practical detail that saves frustration on the bank. The CNC-machined folding aluminium handle and elastomer handle knob form a well-balanced, fatigue-free retrieve unit. An infinite anti-reverse bearing eliminates handle backplay, and a sprung metal line clip keeps your line neatly positioned between casts.
