The Authority 8500 combines IPX8-rated submersible sealing with a precision CNC-machined stainless steel gear train and 22.6 kg of Dura-Drag stopping power, built for trophy saltwater species.

Submersible Protection for Harsh Conditions

The IPX8-sealed body and spool keep water out even when fully submerged. The full-metal construction—body, sideplate, and rotor—delivers rigidity under load, while the sealed Slammer drag with Dura-Drag material maintains smooth, consistent pressure on powerful fish.

Precision Engineering You Can Feel

CNC Gear Technology machines the stainless steel main and pinion gears to tight tolerances for smooth retrieval under pressure. Thirteen stainless steel bearings and the Leveline Slow Oscillation system lay line evenly across the aluminium spool. A 4.7:1 gear ratio retrieves 107 cm per turn, ideal for working jigs and lures in deep water or fighting fish with sustained cranking power.
