The Okuma Helios SX HSX-40FD combines ultralight carbon construction with robust aluminium components to deliver smooth, reliable performance for medium to large freshwater and inshore saltwater species.
The C-40X carbon frame and sideplates reduce overall weight to just 262 g while the Torsion Control Armor (TCA) technology reinforces the body to resist flex and twisting under load. The Cyclonic Flow Rotor enhances corrosion resistance, making this reel a dependable choice for both freshwater and light saltwater environments. The machined aluminium spool features a 2-tone anodised finish and pairs with a heavy-duty solid aluminium bail wire that stands up to hard fighting fish.
Nine corrosion-resistant stainless steel bearings (8HPB + 1RB) work alongside the Precision Elliptical Gearing system and AlumiLite alloy gears to deliver fluid, wobble-free retrieves. The Quick-Set anti-reverse roller bearing provides instant hook-setting power, while the precision-machined brass pinion gear ensures long-lasting durability. The rigid machined aluminium handle with lightweight EVA knobs offers comfortable grip during extended sessions, and the Computer Balanced Rotor Equalizing System (RESII) minimises vibration across all retrieve speeds.
