The Spex8 Braid is designed primarily for spin fishing. Its smooth coated surface and 8-strand construction make it well suited for casting lures and retrieving them through the water.
Choose based on your target species and technique. Thinner diameters (0.09–0.15mm) suit finesse approaches for perch and trout. Mid-range options (0.18–0.24mm) work well for zander and general predator fishing. Thicker variants (0.27–0.30mm) handle pike and heavier applications where higher breaking strain is needed.
An 8-strand braid has a rounder, smoother profile than a 4-strand braid. This results in less friction through the rod guides, longer casts, and a quieter line during the retrieve. It also tends to lie more evenly on the spool.
The lime green colour provides high visibility above the water surface, making it easier to track your line during the retrieve and detect subtle bites visually. When using a fluorocarbon leader, the visible main line does not affect lure presentation underwater.
The coating on the Spex8 Braid provides a smooth surface and contributes to the line's knot strength. Like all coated braids, the coating will gradually wear with use, but the underlying 8-strand braid structure maintains its integrity.
